Simmi Latulippe - Artist Statement

Canadian Artist Simmi Latulippe’s passion for acrylic painting started on a family vacation to the island of Maui. In Maui, Simmi attended painting classes at the prestigious Kapalua Art School and discovered her joy and passion for creating paintings with the use of a palette knife using the Impasto technique.

Her love of vibrant colours is inspired by her childhood, my mother was a passionate gardener so I was surrounded by the natural beauty of Mother Nature.  “I enjoy painting with my palette knife, I feel my work flows on the canvas and colour is the essence of my paintings.”  “I believe my paintings reflect the fun I have painting.”

Living in the Bow Valley for over 30 years, my eyes experience the breathtaking beauty of our surroundings every day. Being able to share this beauty on a canvas brings me, and I hope, the recipients of my paintings joy and gratitude.
