Zen Beaumont - Artist Statement

I am an autodidactic learner, and have had little to no formal training in the arts.  I have had many examples in my life from artists, be they writers, painters, sculptures.  I externalize to process through and beyond trauma, and the environment, that is harmful.  Doing my best to be the positivity I seek, I continue to find artistic endeavours, a healthy pursuit.

The mediums I work with are mostly, acrylic, oil, and some gouache, and pastel., and a lot of ink work.  Photography, and writing (poetry, essays, and short stories), are still with me, in heart, and sometimes in print.

I live by the motto: Engage in Empathy to eclipse the effects of Apathy.

And have also come to rely on: When escaping the frying pan, make sure to see and reach beyond the fire.
